AT&T Wireless Becomes Cingular Which Becomes AT&T
Talk about a branding nightmare. In 2004 AT&T Wireless decided to merge with Cingular Wireless to become the nations largest cell phone company. Now they are re-branding again to become AT&T again.
For the folks at home it’s going to seem like a screw-up when their bills once again come from AT&T. I’m not sure exactly why they have to go around switching names every few years, but I’m sure it’s good for business. You know, in the long run. Oh wait, that doesn’t count when you change your name every few years.
To keep, and attract, customers, Cingular or AT&T or whatever does have exclusive rights to the iPhone from Apple and may be giving away free service with the purchase of an iPhone. All speculation at this point and time but AT&T needs to do something. Customers may feel like the company is unstable or just to confusing to work with.
Changing your brand name once is hard enough, changing it back has got to be down right confusing. Good luck with that.

I agree. Verizon is where it’s at!
