The Difference Between Work and Prison
Just in case you ever get these two environments mixed up, this should make things a little bit clearer.
| At PRISON You spend most of your time in a 10X10 cell |
At WORK you spend most of your time in a 6X6 cubicle |
| At PRISON You get three meals a day, fully paid for |
At WORK you get a break for one meal and you have to pay for it |
| At PRISON For good behavior, you get time off |
At WORK For good behavior, you get more work |
| At PRISON The guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you |
At WORK You must carry a security card and open all the doors yourself |
| At PRISON You can watch TV and play games |
At WORK You could get fired for watching TV and playing games |
| At PRISON You get your own toilet |
At WORK You have to share the toilet with people who pee on the seat |
| At PRISON They allow your family and friends to visit |
At WORK You aren’t even supposed to speak to your family |
| At PRISON All expenses are paid by the taxpayers with no work required |
At WORK You must pay all your expenses to go to work, and they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners |
| At PRISON You spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out |
At WORK You spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars |
| At PRISON You must deal with sadistic wardens |
At WORK They are called ‘managers’ |
| THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE. | |
Whoever said that work was like prison hasn’t really taken a close look at the two.

Haha, prison sounds a lot better now.

At prison: You never leave, and never gain anything.
At work: You get to go home at the end of the day with money.
I get the comparison… but it’s not really funny.

Prison Work

No one likes you.
Mar 3rd 2008

At prison I got to watch the super bowl and hang out with my buddys, they even made us brats. It was great!
I doubt the same could have been said for work.
Mar 5th 2008
Prison kicked the outside worlds ass. Something is very wrong with that picture.
Mar 7th 2008
I AM AN AMAZING DOUCHEBAG THAT WILL SOLVE ALL OF THE DOUCHEBAG IN THE WORLD BY EATING THEM WITH THE SALTWATER!
Mar 7th 2008
Yeah, prison is great. At the cost of all your freedom.
Mar 7th 2008
I have to say I like. As silly and old as it surely is, I enjoyed it.
Mar 8th 2008
Seriously, workplace toilets need improvements.
Mar 8th 2008
haha that was pretty funny…..fyi though, you do have to pay for prison time, tax money does not cover everything….I think it is like $18 a day for something….thats why there are prison jobs.
Mar 11th 2008
Other than the fact that at the end of a day at work you get to go home while at the end of a day of prison…oh wait! MORE PRISON AHAHAHAHAHAHAH. So funny, so funny it hurts. Funny how that little thing called “freedom” doesn’t matter to most people. Probably why the prison system doesn’t work in the first place, people don’t give a flying f**k about freedom of person. BTW, just quit your job and walk away…or rob a store and go to prison, either way you will apparently be happier.
Mar 11th 2008
Wasn’t this done on the office?
Mar 12th 2008
But you don’t get ass-raped at work… and you can go home after work.
Mar 13th 2008
Ever work in Finance? I get ass- raped at work all the time. Then I get to go home and freshen up for tomorrow’s rape. You could park a buick in my perverbial bung hole. So much social commentary on here. It is a friggin’ joke for god sakes. Lighten up! Some of you guys need to be ass- raped so you can loosen up a bit. Ok, that sounds nasty but you get the point. Seacrest out!
Mar 13th 2008
Hey, I find it really funny even it doesn’t make sense that anyone will choose the prison then the work. Well, but some of the thing in this article is really funny and true. Ne’er worry be happy!
Mar 14th 2008
its kinda funny i suppose…
Mar 14th 2008
You guys are idiots, that’s just a joke, don’t take it so seriously, fucktards.
Mar 18th 2008
Um, as far as i know, you still PAY to be IN prison. Maybe not as much as you would pay to buy 3 meals a day and rent a house. But i know for a fact that you pay money. yeha..i didnt really find this all that funny..some of it..but whatever..
Mar 23rd 2008
I like to think that I have a pretty healthy / sick sense of humor (funny that humor can be healthy and sick!
), but if there’s one thing that’s out-of-bounds for me, it’s prison / war on drugs / racism etc. I know that I shouldn’t be taking it too seriously, but the problem is that it’s not taken seriously enough in our daily lives. The situation is really, really, really, really, really bad and we should all take a little bit of time every day to do something that will finally end the policy of drug prohibition once and for all, which would in turn essentially end the problem of the prison industrial complex.

Jokes guys… they’re just jokes and they are funny. If you really wanna start searching the internet for things to criticize (yes i see the irony in that this is exactly what i seem to be doing, lol) and start putting down, maybe you should just read a book so nobody else has to hear your pessimism. Seriously, get over yourselves..
May 9th 2008
you copied that from the office almost exactly.
May 9th 2008
Sorry Ryan, I don’t watch the Office.
May 9th 2008
But at work, there is no 300 pound guy forcing me to give him a blow job.
May 11th 2008
I just wanted to thank you guys for the good time I’m having in prison. Free ballgames and DVD’s.
The food here is great. Sirloin strip and eggs for breakfast, this morning.
And then we go down and lounge in the yard for a while. Maybe work on my tan.
You get the idea.
You’re paying for all this.

“So what are you waiting for go out and kill your boss today.”
some body else did this but at they end they said what i just said.
Jun 24th 2008
That is why I am working hard at getting rich so I don’t have to work!
Jul 4th 2008
Very funny. I never thought of it that way. There is one question: what happens if you work in a prison? Hmm..a point to ponder. Anyway, thanks for the laugh, I needed it today:)
Jul 7th 2008
I rather work… At least you have you family to come home too…
Jan 2nd 2009
I would rather work, but not at a stuffy office. The whole stuck on your permanent record and you can’t get job better then like Burger King if you go to jail turns me away. This is a funny realization though.
