40 in MN in February is bliss

After days, and weeks, below 0, once we crack that 32 mark in Minnesota it feels like summer. Crank the windows down, put on the sorts and just enjoy.

Sad part is we’ll be back to 2 before we know it.

But spring is coming.

Why is it so cold out?

Cold OutsideI swear, it can’t get any colder outside. Spring should be on its way but noooo it’s below zero again.

My main complaint is that my gas tank is empty again and I hate standing out in the cold waiting for it to fill up.

Oh well. Soon summer will be here and then it’ll be too hot.

DMV – Department of Motor Vehicles

I just have to say, the DMV rocks. I know, it sounds kind of weird but it’s fun to go there.

I’ve figured out there are two types of people that work at the DMV. Those that love to talk (newbies) and those that just want you to shut up and keep things moving along (the experienced). It’s really fun to try and strike up a conversation with them and just see where it goes. Most give moans and groans like they are trying to listen, others just kind of give you that “are you crazy” look.

I like to ask them if I can customize my license plate and then go though a ton of words that I know are taken. Like Hot1, Race-Me and Screw-You. Ha ha.

Or tell the you have to do your hair before getting your picture taken so you look stunning. Actually, I know a girl that wore a certain color shirt to coordinate with the border on her drivers license. How cool is that?!

Maybe some day the department of motor vehicles will be a cool hang out place, but until then, we just need to bring the fun ourselves.

Cheryl Leaves KS95

If you’ve ever listened to KS95 in the Twin Cities, then you know the name Cheryl; Cheryl Kaye to be specific. She use to be part of the hugely popular Van and Cheryl morning show. Now, Cheryl is no longer a part of the KS95 in general.

It seems that Cheryl’s contract wasn’t renewed. She may have been asking for more than the station was willing to pay, but then again, she was a big part of their history. Cheryl had been there for 9 years!

Maybe it was just time for her to move on or maybe she wasn’t happy with Greg Thunder. Or, probably the best bet, it just wasn’t the same after Van Patrick left.

Good luck Cheryl on your future endeavors, the Twin Cities will miss you. That is unless you just happen to pop up on some other radio or TV station. :)

Chatfield this weekend

Well I’m off to Chatfield this weekend and hopefully I’ll get a few things accomplished. One, I need to get FireFox installed on the Historical Society’s PC so they can access the gMail account. They have IE but it’s not new enough and, well, I dislike IE. Plus they run fewer virus scares when they use FireFox! Also, I hope to get some pictures. Christi took a few a few weeks ago but I wanted a few more. And some that weren’t taken from a moving car. The third thing I wanna find is web addresses to add to the site. Maybe some camping information or what not in the Chatfield area. We’ll see what I come up with.
