The X-Factor commercials are intriguing.

The X-Factor is still months away from launching in the US but the commercials are already drawing me in.

Hope it’s good and not just another show like America’s Got Talent.

Fox’s Don’t Forget the Lyrics – Much Better

I posted earlier about how lame NBC’s Singing Bee was and I got to catch Fox’s version the other night which was much better.

Don’t Forget the Lyrics is a cross between Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and a karaoke competition. One contestant goes for a million dollars and it gets a bit harder every step of the way. They get three life lines and they can walk away at any time.

Entertainment wise, Fox’s Don’t Forget the Lyrics is MUCH better.

NBC’s Sining Bee a bit lame.

The first, of the three, karaoke singing competitions is under way.  I’m not sure how each network got the same idea for the same show at the same time but they do.

NBC’s Singing Bee was a bit of a letdown.  There were six contents to start off with, but, if the first four do fine, the last to don’t even get to play.  How is that fair?  Then they ran though things quite fast and by the time it was over, I really didn’t care.

I think Joey Fatone is a good host.  Very likable and easy to watch.  But the show, kind lame.  We’ll have to see what ABC and FOX bring to the table.  Wait, does ABC have one?  I thought so.

American Idol Comes to Minneapolis Minnesota

Good luck to the thousdands of hopefulls standing outside Target Center in downtown Minneapolis today. I have a feeling it’s going to be a long day!

Hope to see some of you on TV too this season. :)

American Idol 2006 is Katharine McPhee or Chris Daughtry

I don’t now about you, but I’m routing for Chris Daughtry or Katharine McPhee to win American Idol 2006!

I feel Katharine is the only contestant that is getting better with each performance. Even though they didn’t like her much tonight, I thought she was one of the best performances.

Chris just rocks. I was worried he’d get stuck in the rock songs, but he’s really shown great range in the past few weeks. I think he’d make a great Idol and I’d buy his album!

The weakest two right now for me are Kellie Pickler and Paris Bennett. I just don’t feel that these two are cutting it. Kellie is getting worse as the shows go on and Paris isn’t giving it her all.

Only time will tell though. Which American Idol do you want to win?

NBC’s Las Vegas Moves to Friday

After the Olympics, NBC is moving Las Vegas to Friday nights.

Friday nights!!!! What’s up with that? Will the show survive? I watch it every Monday but Friday nights I don’t usually sit in front of the TV unless I’m watching a movie.

I’m wondering what NBC is thinking. Maybe they want to spice up Friday nights or kill of Las Vegas, either way it’s a hard sell and I think a bad move for one of my favorite shows. I’m one viewer that just may tune out.

WB & UPN Are No Longer

Big news from TV land. It seems that the networks of the WB and UPN are going away as of September 2006.

Have no fear though, they are not going to disappear completely. The WB network and the UPN network are going to merge to become “The CW” network. This may mean that Smallville or Veronica Mars will still have a home. Only time will tell.

The only thing for sure is that UPN and the WB will no longer exist this fall as they do now.

Joey Canceled by NBC?

Has NBC canceled Joey? No, not yet.

Inside sources say that while Joey is off the air until after the Winter Olympics, the show has not been canceled.

However, the show is not performing as well as it could and producers are trying to bring up the viewer ship. New script? New characters? Who knows. All we know is it’s not working well with what it’s currently doing.

Look for Joey back on NBC after the Olympics.

New, Longer, Simpsons Intros?

As I watched my weekly Sunday episode of the Simpsons last week, I noticed the normal intro was cut short and the ending was much longer. Instead of it ending when everyone ran to the couch, there was a 15-30 second cartoon that involved the entire town. This week couches came alive and started chasing everyone.

Is this a new feature for the new season? Extended intros? Possibly.
